Accurate projections of future population trends are required for reliable predictions of future water demands, wastewater discharges, sediment loads and nutrient releases. Insightful planning and technology application (i.e., Geographic Information Systems or GIS) will help ensure that WREs are defensible and accepted by MDE and the other reviewing agencies.
