Hydrogeologic Support for Land Application of Wastewater
 ALWI’s hydrogeological staff has completed several soils suitability and groundwater discharge evaluations in the Mid-Atlantic region since 1990, in fractured bedrock and in Coastal Plain sediments. These projects generally have involved classifying soils, designing and executing soil infiltration tests using following ASTM methods for both single and double-ring infiltrometer testing, assessing baseline water quality and aquifer hydraulics, and estimating groundwater mounding and nutrient loading potential.
With success, we have supported wastewater discharge plans for municipalities, county utilities and other large projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We also support schools, churches, shopping centers and other projects of more intermediate size.
Led by Professional Geologists, Registered Sanitarians and Licensed Sewage Enforcement Officers, ALWI performs soil suitability evaluations, double-ring infiltrometer tests, percolation tests and other field programs to support groundwater mounding evaluations and related state permit application requirements.
