    • ALWI Joins Local Builder Associations; Offers Discounted Professional Services to Fellow Members
In early 2008 ALWI established or renewed associate memberships in the Home Builders Association of Maryland, the Frederick County Builders Association and the York County Builders Association. We also announced professional services discounts offered to fellow members of these organizations. These discounts are directly keyed to independent financial indicators of the present and projected economic health of the building industry; they are in addition to our already competitive fees.

    • Amy Martinez is Selected as FCBA Spotlight Member of the Month
The Frederick County Builders Association selected Amy as their featured spotlight member of this month. As reported in FCBA publications, Amy grew up in neighboring Carroll County. At Susquehanna University she studied Geologic and Environmental Science and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2002. Amy then began her professional career working with Advanced Land and Water, Inc. (ALWI) as a Staff Scientist.

Now a Project Scientist, Amy specializes in soil science and hydrogeology, and often her work focuses on scientific and regulatory aspects of wastewater discharge and disposal, and water supply development and permitting. Her professional growth is evident with her licensures as a State of Maryland Registered Sanitarian (R.S.), Pennsylvania Sewage Enforcement Officer (S.E.O.), and Maryland Department of Agriculture Nutrient Management Planner. Amy’s job satisfaction comes from helping clients realize their development plans in a manner that both protects and conserves local environmental resources.

In addition to being a full-time employee at ALWI, Amy is a member of the National Groundwater Association and the Pennsylvania Association of Sewage Enforcement Officers. Amy lives with her Yorkshire Terrier “Yogie” in Taneytown and is the proud Aunt of a baby girl.
