Ms. Susan G. Eisner is General Counsel and Vice-President of Advanced Land and Water, Inc. (ALWI). She possesses more than 22 years professional experience as an attorney and environmental consultant. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maryland, and proceeded to earn a J.D. with Honors from the University of Maryland School of Law. She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1990.
Ms. Eisner directs overall corporate operations, establishes and maintains policies and procedures for legal and administrative compliance, manages the accounting and human resources departments, and is principal-in-charge of contract development, negotiation and review. She directs marketing and business development activities, and chairs the long-range strategic planning committee. She also serves as in-house corporate counsel, and provides legal and administrative peer review of all outbound documents before release to clients and third parties. Furthermore, Ms. Eisner serves as liaison between ALWI and its outside legal, financial and accounting advisors.
Prior to the establishment of ALWI, Ms. Eisner was a Senior Associate with several regional firms in the greater Baltimore-Washington area. Past affiliations include the former Frank, Bernstein, Conoway and Goldman, as well as Gordon and Simmons. The majority of her professional practice focused on environmental law, commercial, corporate and banking litigation, with subordinate work in taxation.
Ms. Eisner has been an invited speaker and attendee at several exclusive seminars on various aspects of environmental, land use, real estate and tax law. Ms. Eisner’s background as an environmental attorney provides ALWI a broad balance with respect to the technical, regulatory, and land use planning issues encountered on many projects. Ms. Eisner’s germane experience includes editorial assistance and review on the aforementioned ALWI projects.
Based in part on the unique perspective offered by Ms. Eisner’s background, various public sector and institutional clients, notably including the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) awarded ALWI a large contract to perform Source Water Assessment and Wellhead Protection work throughout Frederick and Howard Counties. Similarly, Ms. Eisner’s expertise and credentials have bolstered ALWI proposal submissions to large public and private-sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
