ALWI selected high-capacity test well drilling locations using fracture trace analysis and related hydrogeologic mapping techniques, prepared and submitted local and MDE permits for well drilling and water appropriation, designed and oversaw drilling of new high-production irrigation wells, designed and executed pumping tests, estimated turf water uptake requirements and corresponding groundwater demand, modeled future groundwater withdrawal impacts in accordance with MDE fractured rock procedures and successfully negotiated for issuance of a groundwater appropriation permit for the wells. We also secured a surface water appropriation permit for the irrigation pond and made recommendations on well field and surface water withdrawal operations. The club is currently operating with irrigated grounds from the wells and pond, and has lessened reliance on public water consequently.
