ALWI designed, coordinated and executed several comprehensive field evaluations to increase the area and amount of municipal wastewater application by spray irrigation. Field work included soil borings, monitoring well drilling, infiltrometer testing, slug testing and aquifer testing. Soil wastewater disposal capacity was determined based on the most limiting of: soil infiltration, nutrient uptake via agriculture and forested areas or groundwater mounding (most limiting). Assessed and documented soils and hydrogeologic conditions to support permitting and made recommendations to guide operations. Delaware Department of Natural Resources (DNREC) approvals were secured based on the Design Development Report (DDR) submittals which ensued from our successful evaluation.
